Hi, I’m Erin Green—educator, caregiver, curriculum designer, and founder of Seeds & Sprouts.
I’ve been caring for young children for most of my life. I started babysitting in middle school and took on my first regular nanny job at 16. In college, I worked consistently for two wonderful families over four years. One family had a child with Down syndrome, and the other had four children under the age of four. Each experience taught me something different—how to support neurodiverse development with patience and creativity, and how to nurture young children in a busy, high-energy home environment.
After college, I became an elementary school teacher and later pursued my Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, where I focused on justice-centered approaches to elementary education. While working on my doctorate, I continued caring for children—providing overnight care once a week and one weekend a month for my niece, and later for my nephew after he was born. This marked a shift from working as a nanny in others’ homes to welcoming children into my own.
While caring for my niece and nephew over the past four years—and then becoming a mother myself in May 2024—I have intentionally transformed my home into a space designed for early childhood education and exploration. My office now doubles as a classroom, and every corner of our home reflects thoughtful, intentional design for young children: open-ended toys, rotating sensory materials, books within reach, and a daily rhythm inspired by Montessori principles.
Becoming a parent reshaped my sense of time, care, and what really matters. I’ve loved creating this space for my family, and I’m excited to open it up to a broader community through Seeds & Sprouts.
Seeds & Sprouts brings together everything I value—slow mornings, joyful play, connection, curiosity, and care rooted in developmental knowledge. I’m honored to share it with your family.
